Setara — Reporting Platform (Binar Academy)
Team project: web and admin side of a violence-reporting Android app
- Role
- UI Designer — I built the web design for the Setara site, the admin dashboard, and contributed to the user research.
- Scope
- Landing page introducing the product; admin dashboard for managing received reports and responding to users via report chat; research on women and children affected by violence, through online surveys and interviews with target users.
- Timeline
- 3 months
- Category
- Team Project / UI Design
Overview
A Binar Academy Batch #10 group project with 18 people across backend, frontend, and design roles.
Challenge
Survivors of violence against women and children need a reporting route that does not add to the fear of coming forward.
Objective
Support the Android app with a web presence and an admin side capable of handling and responding to incoming reports.
Approach
Research first — online surveys and interviews with target users — then interface work, across a three-month project with an 18-person cross-functional team.
Selected decisions
The admin dashboard needed a reply channel, not just a queue. A report that disappears into an inbox does not help the person who filed it.
Deliverables
Setara landing page, admin dashboard with report management and chat, and supporting user research.
Outcome
Delivered as a Binar Academy Batch #10 team project.
Reflection
Eighteen people across three disciplines is a lot of coordination for three months. It was the first time I saw clearly how much design work is actually communication work.
